Worst Records of the Year:

1. Aiden - Conviction

2. Fall Out Boy - Infinity On High

3. Sum 41 - Underclass Hero (lol...they still make albums)

4. Cartel - Cartel

5. Bright Eyes - Cassadaga (I have been so over Mr. Oberst since 2005)

Biggest Revelations of 2007:

1. Coheed and Cambria will probably never make an album as good as Second Stage Turbine Blade.

2. Max Bemis was hotter when he was more psychotic.

3. New Found Glory can still make an awesome album...if it's all cover songs.

4. Jesse Lacey is kind of a douche bag.

5. I'm way too old to be going to shows anymore.

Biggest Disappointments of 2007:

1. Fred leaving Taking Back Sunday.

2. Against Me! - New Wave (could it be any more of a filler album?)

3. Daryl Palumbo's DJ sets...

4. The Mets :(

5. Jimmy Eat World - Chase This Light (I love you guys but come on and stop with the pop shit)

Most Anticipated for 2008:

1. Glassjaw

2. Alkaline Trio

3. Anti-Flag

4. Jay-Z going back into retirement

5. Ashlee Simpson admitting she got a nosejob

Favorite new bands in '07 that will get big in '08:

1. Emanuel

2. Between the Trees

3. Cold War Kids

4. As Tall As Lions

5. Bela Kiss

I don't get the hype:

1. Paramore

2. M.I.A.

3. Arcade Fire

4. Boys Like Girls

5. The Hills (there's gotta be a better way to spend your time...like omgzzz read a fucking book maybe!?)

william_david I've got to disagree with the Against Me! comment (though I know it's appearing on so many disappointment lists) and New Found Glory as biggest revelations. New Wave, while incredibly different than previous AM! is still well-written full of quality songs. And the New Found Glory movie album was nowhere near as good as the first or much of the older NFG catalog. It's just boring. I'm also a bit confused about the going to shows thing. Maybe you just need to see better bands. Of course you're going to feel old going to a Chiodos show. Jan 13, 2008
Shipwreck Wow you guys sound so retarded "I'm to old to be going to shows" Then your to old to listen to good music too, you are also to old to be posting your top list of 2007! I'm 33 and still go to Gilman all the time, in April I will have been going to shows for 19 years. 14 year old kids come to see my band and does it make me feel old nope, it gives me hope that even though there are retards like you who grow up and become robots in the fake lame re re mo world we live in, there's still kids down to be lifers in the greatst scene known to man The PUNX/HARDCORE/CRUST/THRASH scene!!! D.I.Y. NOT A.F.I., or was that D.R.I. NOT A.F.I.!! Jan 6, 2008
CD I'm still too young to go to an opera show.
But seeing a drunk guy on stage getting the crowd to yell Fuck the government just doesn't get to me anymore. Now I'm starting to meet people in shows that were not even borned when I went to my first punkrock show.
Thirtysomething and still "Punk" is getting weirder everyday :-)

Michelle I hope this doesn't sound douchey, but what shows are you going to that you're way too old for? If anything, I feel like I go to shows I'm still too young for...? Jan 4, 2008
