"As The Internal Cowboy" has a southern twinge with a shot of some rockabilly flavor, coated with a unique punk rock glaze. The vocals being as distinct as the band's instrumentals, it's no wonder Fat Mike decided to make these four a part of the family. When the first track "T.S.R." started I was scared to hear more, but the vocals suddenly were overcome with an old school punk rock influence that kept up throughout! Suprisingly some of my favorite tunes off the disc such as "Cavalier Eternal" and "Sink, Florida, Sink" feature Tom Gabel on the acoustic guitar. He does it with skill and passion which make the songs both standouts. The band has come a long way since their time gracing the roster of No Idea Records and tracks such as "Cliche Guevara" and "Slurring The Rhythms" will support that fact. It took me a few spins to start enjoying their Fat debut, but once I started I couldn't stop. I think you'll feel the same!
